Orca bites whale shark's liver while its swimming
A blue shark off the coast of Spain reportedly attacked a swimmer, biting his foot and causing three miles of coastline to close.
According to local media, the shark collided with the bather at Rabdells Beach and bit his foot – causing the section of the sea to “turn red”.
The incident occurred when the man was in shallower water, and the shark collided with his leg before biting down on his foot.
Rabdells Beach is located in the Oliva municipality, south of Valencia on the eastern coast of mainland Spain.
The nearby islands of Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca, and Formentera are to the east.

Following the incident, local authorities closed the beaches along the coast for an investigation.
The man, speaking to the regional newspaper Las Provincias, recounted that he spotted a “shadow,” felt a sudden impact on his left leg, and then experienced a bite on his right foot.
He reacted with adrenaline, attempting to seek help without causing panic among fellow beachgoers.
He said: “I didn’t have time to get scared. Noticing that blood was coming out of me, I went into the sea so as not to alarm everyone.

“The first thing I am going to do when my foot heals is to go back. If you are afraid of things, you are lost.”
The incident occurred on a Thursday afternoon when the man was standing in shallow waters along the Spanish coast.
In response, the Oliva Town Council took precautionary action by closing Rabdells, Aigua Blanca, and Aigua Mota beaches. These beaches span a coastline of approximately three miles. This measure was implemented due to the presence of the shark in the nearby waters.
After the incident, the beaches were reopened on Friday. Local experts, health authorities, local police, and the Guardia Civil, one of Spain’s national police forces, confirmed that the animal no longer posed a threat.
