Kate Middleton’s 24-hour ‘rave’ has royal fans ask if Jeremy Clarkson was there

Kate Middleton is believed to have been pictured at a 24-hour "rave" – and royal fans are asking whether Jeremy Clarkson was there with her.

The photograph was reportedly taken at Houghton Festival in Norfolk last weekend. The music festival is held on land owned by the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley, pals of Kate and Prince William.

It shows Kate, 41, enjoying a drink as she chats to two blokes.

The Daily Mail's Richard Eden wrote it is "understood" the Princess of Wales attended her first ever music festival last weekend – "albeit a very upper-class one".

Kate was reportedly dining with the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley at their home, Houghton Hall, while the festival was taking place.

A source told the Daily Mail: "After dinner, one of the guests suggested that Catherine go to the festival.

"Catherine was nervous about the idea, but, after much discussion with her protection officers, she went with lots of security. William wasn't there."

Houghton Festival is billed as Britain’s only 24-hour music festival. It was set up by DJ Craig Richards in 2017, and hosted over 200 artists across 13 stages from Thursday (August 10) to Sunday (August 14).

After seeing the photo, royal fans all had the same thing to say about the chap who appeared to the left of the Princess.

One X (formerly Twitter) user asked: "I only want to know if that is Jeremy Clarkson!?" To which another replied: "That could be Jeremy Clarkson. But I am not sure! It's hard to see from the side."

A second added: "It looks like him. His dress sense is like a uniform. Jeans and a green jacket."

Others pointed out that Kate didn't seem to be doing much raving, despite the festival pumping out techno tunes all weekend.

One post read: "Is this the 'rave?' Now I see it was a 'upper class rave.' It looks staid and boring."

Another person said: "That looks like she's in a pub with some old folks."

The Evening Standard reported that Kate offered a £700 tip to hospitality staff for a meal she ate on the visit. Kate was said to have declined the popular food trucks, instead going to the Turntable and Napkin restaurant on-site.

The news outlet reported she "was in high spirits, ordering spicy margaritas, eating affogato, and speaking affably with the other members of her party".

"Her companions apparently carted in a huge, balthazar-sized bottle of AIX rosé and, together with Kate, left the festival restaurant staff a £700 tip," the report added.
