‘Dogs killed my neighbour – I bent knife stabbing them 11 times to save my baby’

A bloodthirsty pair of dogs mauled a 15-year-old to death before a neighbour prevented a 'massacre' and saved his baby by stabbing them.

Maximiliano from the Estación Flores neighbourhood of the city of Córdoba in Argentina, claims to have needed a second knife after bending a blade slashing two mastiff-type beasts.

The owner of the killer dogo Argentino pets which Maximiliano claims to have been trained to hunt pumas, has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

Suspect, Jose told local press: "I apologise to the family, it was not my intention."

According to the American Kennel Club the dogo Argentino is a pack-hunting dog, bred for the pursuit of big-game such as wild boar and puma, and possesses the strength, intelligence and quick responsiveness of a serious athlete.

Speaking to media outlet TN, Maximiliano explained how he had no choice but to kill or see his family be killed: “When the dogs came in, I did not think about the seriousness of facing them. I have my 11-month-old baby here.

"I had to stab the dogs more than 11 times. I stabbed one of them and he left. I stabbed the other one and he followed me.

"He wouldn't let go and chased me. A knife bent and I had to look for another one.

"When one of the dogs got into my living room, I kept hitting him. The dog began to run in circles until I gave it one last stab."

Maximiliano was then left with two hulking big dogo Argentino spilling blood in his house.

With six children playing just down the road, Maximiliano fears "it would have been a massacre" had he not intervened.

The dogs' power and aggression were not a total shock to Maximiliano who said he once joined them and their owner hunting pumas.
