British WWE babe admits ‘truth’ behind ‘hot and sexy’ pic in heartfelt message

Scottish WWE wrestler Nikki Cross has gone public about a historic 'sexy pic'.

Taking to Twitter, model and pro athlete said: "This photo was taken in 2004. Yes I know I look hot and sexy and s*** but I was absolutely miserable.

"I had a terrible relationship with food. I had a terrible relationship with myself. I hated myself."

Cross she performs on the Raw brand and is a one-time WWE Raw Women's Champion, three-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champion and an 11-time and final WWE 24/7 Champion.

The 34-year-old Glaswegian has broken the mould by being one of the few Brits to hit the big time in pro-wrestling in the US.

She talked to fans about her mental health recovery, with many of her supporters sending messages of gratitude to her.

"Going to therapy was the best decision I ever made," she said.

"I look at recent photos and I'm like I look more happy now. Because I am. "

Her intial wrestling persona saw her enact a psychopathic and unhinged woman suffering from mood swings.

Wrestling announcer Lenny Thomas replied to the emotional tweet, saying: "You’re the best Nikki…. Love you so much."

Other send messages of support such as 'relate to this so much thank you for sharing' and 'Vulnerability, emotional strength, and awareness are the most powerful strengths one can have.'

Cross was born and raised in Glasgow and graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Bachelor of Arts and Master's degree in history.

Prior to her career on WWE, she worked as a fitness instructor and personal trainer.

The spotlight has been in WWE in recent years over the pressure put on its performers and the uncompromising expectation many have over athletes to have the perfect body.

She ended the message by writing: "Truly a picture is worth a thousand words, luckily I'm not going to write a thousand words."
