‘Mr Greggs’ storms country in socks and crocs to show love for bakery chain

Mega pasty fan "Mr Greggs" is touring the country in some bakery chain-themed attires and professing his love for the organisation.

Mark Andersen, now dubbed "Mr Greggs" is so obsessed with the sausage roll-selling store that he shows up to the properties in their merchandise and owns three "Greggs uniforms".

The 53-year-old can be spotted around Liverpool proudly showing off his branded clothing, sporting a t-shirt, shorts, socks, crocs and bucket hat themed in the colours and logos of the store.

Ever since the 21-piece Primark series released, Mr Greggs has bought up clothing items and keeps heading back for more, eventually making three "Greggs uniforms" he wears regularly.

Staff members of the West Derby Road-based Greggs store first spotted Andersen, who they offered a sausage roll to in exchange for a photo of him outside the store.

Mr Greggs said: "I saw her standing outside the shop and I thought she was coming in, but when I left she came over to me and asked to take my picture outside. I said 'yeah okay' and she gave me a sausage roll.

"I jokingly said 'I would love a cheese and onion pasty' and she gave me one of them too. I then called the shop when I got home and told them I have a full uniform, so asked if they wanted me to come back the next day."

Mr Greggs showed up promptly the next day dressed head to toe in merchandise, including a controversial socks and crocs pairing.

Since the first occasion of his store drop-in, Mr Greggs has visited as many stores in the Liverpool area as he possibly can.

The Greggs fanatic added: "I love Greggs, but I don't have a car which makes it hard. If one is on my route I will pop my head in and ask if they want a picture of the famous Mr Greggs. I have been to Tuebrook, Old Swan, Huyton Village and the city by Lewis's."

Mr Greggs added that people often stop him for a photograph, The Echo reported.
