The United Kingdom and the European Union have been at loggerheads for months over demands from the British Government for the renegotiations of the terms of the Northern Ireland protocol. “We have reached clear agreements after laborious negotiations, which took a very long time.
“And for us the Northern Ireland protocol is of essential importance. Its substance must be safeguarded. This is very important.
“And I can only appeal once again to the United Kingdom, and to London, to finally live up to these agreements.
“What we’re witnessing here is not a game.”
