A bloke who allegedly put his penis in a Tickle Me Elmo doll while working as a home inspector has called on cops to ignore his verbal and written confessions.

It is claimed the creepy crime took place in the nursery of a Michigan residence, when randy Kevin VanLuven, 59, took the stuffed toy and "unzipped his pants and began masturbating in (the) son’s closet".

The home’s resident, baffled Jaida Dodson, remotely checked her security cameras to see what VanLuven was up to as he inspected the Oxford Township home on behalf of a potential buyer.

She had let him into her home along with another inspector, the buyers, and a real estate agent on March 12, reports The Smoking Gun.

The mum was horrified to see him allegedly take the kid’s toy into a wardrobe and immediately called the cops.

Officers raced to the address and charged VanLuven with aggravated indecent exposure and malicious destruction of personal property – both of which are misdemeanors.

The responding officer, Deputy Patrick Yens, told a Circuit Court judge that the 911 caller "believed that a home inspector was pleasing himself with a doll, I believe".

Bemused police seized evidence from the home and Yens testified: "We collected Elmo and took Elmo in."

According to the cop, when VanLuven was questioned he owned up to the bizarre sex act.

The officer said to the court the sexual deviant "admitted to placing his penis in Elmo’s mouth, in the doll’s mouth".

He claimed "he apologized" and that he was "ashamed" of his behaviour.

But now, the 59-year-old romantic is calling on the judge to ignore his confession.

VanLuven – who is pleading not guilty – wants his previous statement thrown out and is arguing he was improperly questioned by the cops.

Prosecutors are fighting against his attempts and a hearing on the motion is scheduled for August 17.

The Elmo enthusiast spent more than five weeks behind bars in a county jail before he paid bail.

Dodson and her scarred family have relocated to Springfield, Missouri in light of the alleged offender’s behaviour.
