A 13-year-old boy has been accused of luring a six-year-old neighbour to his “brutal” death before hiding the body.
The teenager is alleged to have tricked the victim, known by the surname Wang, into his house in China where he murdered him.
He hid the body which was not found until two weeks later, according to reports.
The victim went missing in Mianxian, in Shaanxi province, on February 17.
His last sighting was on CCTV cameras near a supermarket at about 6.30pm, the South China Morning Post reported.
Police and his family desperately searched for him for more than two weeks, with notices posted in nearby towns and cities.
Authorities said his body was discovered at a house in the same neighbourhood on March 4.
The teen, who lives with his grandparents, was taken away by police.
He is alleged to have carried out the killing while the house was empty.
The victim’s dad said the body had multiple injuries, adding the family did not know the alleged killer.

The killing has reportedly sparked debate in China over the age of criminal responsibility.
It was lowered from 14 to 12-years-old last December, following a rise in child crime.
The change says youngsters aged between 12 and 14 bear criminal responsibility if they commit “intentional homicide” or intentionally hurt another person so as to cause death.
They are also criminally responsible if they severely injury other people by “resorting to especially cruel means”.
