Founded in 1950, Drayton Manor is one of the UK's longest standing theme parks. It is hoped the park, which sees around 1.5 million visitors a year, can secure new investment.

The family-run business was founded by George and Vera Bryan in 1950 and has been celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.

They bought the land and had opened it as a small attraction with children's rides until it developed significantly in the 1980s.

Popular thrill rides at the family-friendly park include the Apocalypse which was installed in 2000, The Ben 10, later known as Accelerator in 2017, and Air Race emerged in 2014.

The more gentle Thomas Land rides were introduced between 2008 and 2017.
