Prince Harry and Meghan ‘to host Hollywood A-listers’ at US home this Christmas

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are set to host A-list celebs at their Californian home this Christmas, it has been reported.

The royal couple are not heading to the UK to spend the festive season with the firm this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

With that being the case, celebrity couple David Foster, 71, and Katharine McPhee, 36, are thought to be on the guest list at the couple's multi-million-dollar home in Montecito for a "scaled back" Christmas.

Meghan was friends with actress Katharine at school while Grammy award-winning producer David is said to be a "father figure" to Harry.

A source said: "They've also invited David and Katharine to spend it with them.

"David had mentioned Harry and Meghan going to theirs but Meghan wants it at home."

It will be the first Christmas that Meghan, 39, and Harry, 36, will have spent in their new LA home after quitting the UK earlier this year.

It has long been speculated the couple will not be returning home for Christmas.

The source said: "Meghan very much wants to host the first Christmas at their new home with her mum.

"She's really excited and is planning on doing all the traditions she grew up with as a child, including cooking."

The loved-up pair are also said to be "excited to decorate for Christmas.

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be returning for the festive season, the UK-based royals have had to adjust their holiday plans due to the coronavirus restrictions.

The annual meet-up at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk has been ruled out by Buckingham Palace.

The Queen, 94, and Prince Philip, 99, traditionally spend the festive period with close family at the sprawling estate, but they have scrapped those plans to remain with their 'bubble' at Windsor Castle.

The Daily Star has contacted representatives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for comment.
