Tributes have come in for a mum who fled a house carrying her four-month-old baby after she was stabbed multiple times.
Kimberley Deakin, 29, yelled “help, help” while covered in blood and carrying her daughter on Friday November 6.
She collapsed onto the ground moments later, and died from her injuries in the street in Stoke, Staffordshire shortly after 4.45pm.
A man, Lewis Crofts, 39, has been arrested and charged with Kimberley’s murder and the pair are said to have been known to each other.
Neighbours said Kimberley moved into the house a few weeks ago and described her as a “doting mum” who “really loved” her child.
One neighbour told The Sun Online: “She seemed a doting mum who really loved her baby girl.
"You would see her smiling and talking to her.
"She was obviously a very loving mum. It's tragic and must be devastating for her family."
Next-door neighbour Ken Bradshaw, 77, spoke out about the horrific scene on Friday, Mr Bradshaw said: "I know Kim has only been there for a few months.
"She seemed a lovely lady and the man moved in after the baby was born.
"I didn't hear anything but when I looked out I saw a neighbour with the baby in her arms.
"It comes as a real shock."
In a statement, Staffordshire Police said: "A 39-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Burslem on Friday 6 November.
"Lewis Crofts, of Broadstone, Dorset, has been remanded in custody and will appear before North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Monday morning (9 November).
"Formal identification of the woman is still to take place, but she is believed to be Kimberley Deakin, aged 29, from Burslem. Kimberley and Lewis were known to each other.
"Her family are being supported by specially-trained officers at this time and we would kindly urge people to respect their privacy.
"A Home Office post mortem examination found the cause of Kimberley's death to be stab wounds.
